What is Founder Labs?

Founder Labs is designed to support early stage founders building high growth potential companies. It is a generalist programme that will support all sectors and industry, including deep tech.

Why was Founder Labs created?

To empower high-potential startups in Northern Ireland with the resources and mentorship to achieve rapid growth and success.

Who is running Founder Labs?

Founder Labs is an initiative funded by Invest Northern Ireland and delivered by a partnership between Ormeau Labs, The AMP, Queens University Belfast and Dogpatch Labs. These experienced partners have helped thousands of founders across the island of Ireland from the idea stage right through to raising money from global investors. Collectively we have helped founders raise over $200m in venture capital.

Who can participate in Founder Labs?

Anyone who has an ambitious and transformative idea.  It can be at the idea stage, or you may have a product in market and some customers.

You can apply if you have already raised angel investment, but those who have already secured institutional capital from venture funds may not benefit from the programme.

What are the eligibility criteria for Founder Labs?

Only that they are wanting to build a globally successful and impactful company from Northern Ireland.

Do I need to be a Northern Ireland registered company?

You have to be based in Northern Ireland and have UK company but in year 2, we will be able to accept up to 30% of applicants from outside Northern Ireland.

Is there a cost associated with the programme?

No. Quite the opposite. You will get £25k as a participant.
